PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team opened up the 2017-18 season with a 78-69 road victory over the Drexel University Dragons. The contest was played at DU's Daskalakis Athletic Center in front of a near capacity crowd of 2,504.

Redshirt-freshman guard Justin Turner led the Falcons with a historic night. Turner finished the game with 33 points, seven assists, four rebounds, two steals and one block. Turner's 33 points are the most from a Falcon freshman since Spencer Park scored 33 at Detroit on Dec. 12, 2015.

The Falcons trailed, 42-32, at halftime, but shot 60.0 percent in the second half, while holding Drexel to just 27 second-half points. Bowling Green is now 1-0 on the season, earning a true road win in the season opener for just the fourth time since 1982-83.
