OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University men’s basketball coach Jack Owens announced the signing of Dalonte Brown (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher) to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. Brown will begin play for the RedHawks during the 2017-18 season.

Brown, a 6-7 forward, was a four-year letterwinner for Toledo Bowsher High School. As a senior he averaged a double-double and reached the 1,000 career point milestone. After averaging 22.1 points per game in 2016-17 he was named Second-Team All-Ohio by the Associated Press. He also was named the Toledo City Player of the Year.

“Dalonte provides this team with athleticism from the forward position,” said Owens. “He can play inside or out. He’s a good rebounder with a high skill level. He brings something we needed in this class and we’re excited that he’s here.”

Brown joins Jalen Adaway (Logansport, Ind./Logansport), Isaiah Coleman-Lands (Indianapolis, Ind./La Lumiere School) and Darrian Ringo (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg/Eastern Arizona/Midland) as part of Coach Owens’ first recruiting class.
